SCOPE
The project involves the design and detail of a prefabricated pavilion to compliment the existing house on the site but also provide additional amenity and a breakout space for the family.
The pavilion floats above the ground with no concrete foundations and is oriented towards the view and prevailing breezes. Passive design principles are used as tools to inform the layout. Internally the finishes of white washed plywood, timber floorboards and glazed tiles work to provide a sense of calm for the gym space.
In order to maintain timeline and quality a prefabricated construction methodology was proposed - building the pavilion off site and transporting it on site. Built in 8 weeks and installed in a couple of days.
The cabin is conceived as a transportable structure, carefully dimensioned to sit on the back of a truck for efficient movement between the warehouse and site.
Aurae is emerging an architecture and interior design studio with a core focus on harmonious designs which lie lightly upon the land.
