Scope

The existing site enjoyed wonderful views towards Manly and North head but had a dilapidated house on it. The project transformed this single dilapidated house into a multi-dwelling development including three separate dwellings with a shared basement carpark excavated into the sandstone.

The interiors are defined by robust and earthy materials with the intention of broader market appeal. Feature timber elements and solid timber floors provide warmth within the spaces whilst the marble, brass tapware and architectural lighting provide a sense of luxury within the dwelling.

Providing much needed density the three dwellings are detailed to a high standard with natural and robust materials centred around courtyards and garden spaces.

Hardwood battens introduce a textural layer to the interior palette

The architecture cleverly ensures natural light in the bathroom areas, spilling over the marble mosaic though a skylight as well as a purposefully placed window into a courtyard with a floating mirror in front for the vanity.

Aurae is emerging an architecture and interior design studio with a core focus on harmonious designs which lie lightly upon the land.
